Good Friday Tenebrae Service

6:00 pm

Leader: Rev Becky Whitehead

Music: Rekha Ohal and Ryan Barnett

Tenebrae means shadows and darkness. Its observance dates back to the 4th century in the Christian Church. In this solemn observance, candles are gradually extinguished as a reminder of the darkness that came upon the earth during the Passion and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

But God did not leave Jesus in the darkness, and God does not leave us there either. We move beyond Tenebrae into the Light of the Resurrection and the quickening of Life Eternal within each of us.

Sunday, April 7
